Our Spanish Adventure is located in the small town of Caldes de Malavella in Catalonia, Spain; just 20 kilometers from Girona and 90 kilometers from Barcelona, in the foothills of the mountainous Montseny massif [a UNESCO designated Biosphere].
Since Roman Times, Caldes de Malavella [named after two castles] has been known for its healing spring waters [highly beneficial for the digestive system, nervous system, circulation and breathing]. Together with it’s tranquil ambience, the town provides the perfect destination to unwind; combining culture and adventure with health, rest and relaxation.

Flights to Girona or Barcelona – our trips are run in-country which means we’ll meet you in the Hotel at the start of the trip. We can provide information on appropriate flights from UK airports.

Arrive at Girona or Barcelona Airport and transfer to our Hotel located in Caldes de Malavella for our Meet and Greet. In the evening we’ll enjoy a delicious welcome dinner together in a local restaurant where we’ll discuss the festivities that will take place during our time in Spain; and the specific movies linked with this trip.
Full Day exploring the ancient city of Girona on the trail of Games of Thrones and the Ava Gardner Classic ‘Pandora and the Flying Dutchman’. Girona is a city of intrigue and mystery; and our walking tour will include visits to the Cathedral of Saint Mary of Girona (which has the widest Gothic nave in the world), the Museu d’Art, the Jewish Quarter, and the bridges and houses along the banks of the Onyar River. Following lunch in the Plaça de la Independència (the main square of the city), we’ll have the opportunity to visit the Film Museum and walk the walls of the Passeig de la Muralla. To conclude our beautiful day in Girona, you’ll be taken to a ‘Secret’ Rooftop Bar for a Champagne Toast after dinner.
Full morning to enjoy the thermal baths of Caldes de Malavella. The Spa has a wide range of treatments from mud therapy to bamboo massages.
During the afternoon we’ll celebrate the Festival of Water with larger than life historical figures; as they join the main Procession through this pretty Spanish town [which occurs during the first weekend of October every year].
Opportunity to shop for trinkets and antiquities at the Festival Market in Caldes de Malavella in the morning. Afternoon in Tossa de Mar where we’ll have lunch within the Castle Walls at a clifftop restaurant with stunning views high above the Balearic Sea below. Tossa is another one of the film locations for the classic movie, Pandora and the Flying Dutchman.
After breakfast, we’ll head out to the enigmatic village of La Bisbal d’Empordà for sightseeing and the opportunity to visit the ceramic and antique shops that the town is synonymous with. La Bisbal d’Empordà is one of the leading pottery centres in Catalonia, and the delightful shopping area focuses on marketing their local products.
Farewell breakfast in our hotel in Caldes de Malavella. Flight home from Girona or Barcelona Airport.
